The red house and adjacent studio are hard to miss in the white townscape of Wesleyville, a small community set on the astoundingly beautiful shore known as Bonavista North, on Bonavista Bay.

The area, famous for its role in the Newfoundland seal fishery, is only now being developed for tourism. But it has always been the inspiration for the renowned printmaker David Blackwood. This is the place for those seeking a complete escape, a genuine retreat.

Our century old house has been restored to preserve the best of the old, renovated to be completely up-to-date in every other way and furnished with a mix of the antique and contemporary.

On the ground floor there's a living room, kitchen / dining room, 2 pc. washroom/laundry and upstairs a small study, large bathroom and two spacious bedrooms each with double bed.

You'll find everything to make your stay ultra comfortable: dishwasher, cookware, dinnerware, larder, washer, dryer, cable tv/vcr, stereo/cd player, down duvets, fine linens, bedside radios, towels, toiletries, hairdryer, books, books and more books (even an architectural drafting table in the studio).

From the broad deck, our extensive berry studded property leads right down to the edge of the North Atlantic. Bring your kayak.

A short drive takes you through awesome scenery to heritage sites in Newtown and Greenspond, miles of sandy beaches and winding trails. We're ideally situated for day or overnight trips to Change and Fogo Islands, the Eastport Peninsula and Terra Nova National Park.
