The Lucas House Bed and Breakfast is a traditional style Newfoundland home built by the Lucas family in 1940. It served as a family home for many generations and has since been renovated to incorporate many modern day conveniences while still maintaining the character and charm of the original. The property still has several of the original structures, which speak of earlier days including a smoke house and root cellar.

The setting is park like being well removed from the main road providing more than ample parking but still in a 24 hour lighted area. The property contains, and is surrounded by, mature Pine, Birch, Vir and White Spruce trees, which give a welcome shade on bright summer days in addition to some appreciated privacy. The large front garden provides a comfortable location for people to sit and read, talk or just to relax and enjoy a quiet Newfoundland evening.

All guest rooms at the Lucas House B & B are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated and have a window overlooking the surrounding property. The bedrooms have either a queen size bed with ensuite or a double bed with separate private bath. Guests are encouraged to join us in the common living room provided with a large screen tv/vcr and satellite television service.

There is also a selection of movies and books (including children's) for guests to enjoy. After a restful night, a hearty traditional Newfoundland breakfast along with fresh juice and jams and a selection of cold cereals is provided to start your day off right.
